Murua is situated at the heart of the Rioja Alavesa, together with some of the most historical wineries of the region. Made with the three white Rioja varieties, (Viura, Malvasia, Garnacha Blanca) and each varietal selected manually during harvest from the tops of the vines, and then once again at the sorting conveyor, bunch by bunch. The wine is fermented on its lees, following an old, traditional formula, at room temperature in Bordeaux barrels of new French oak. The result of this impeccable winemaking process results in bold tropical fruit on the nose with suggestions of vanilla, poached pear and a bit of smoke. This carries through onto the palate where a rich surge of fruit and oak marry well. The finish is nicely balanced and has incredible length. Definitely a wine for the complex palate and wine connoisseur at heart.
