Murphy-Goode "Rockin' Goode" Cabernet Sauvignon- The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon is a wonderful expression of the many appellations from which it is derived. Primarily sourced from Mendocino County, this Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas and flavors of blackberry and cherry with hints of thyme are expressed. Merlot was folded into the blend to add depth and complexity.

Murphy-Goode "A darn Goode Pinot" Pinot Noir- The 2012 Pinot Noir comes from vineyards up and down the coast of California, including Monterey, Santa Barbara and Mendocino. Cool conditions in these prime growing spots keep grapes at a perfect balance between vibrant dark fruit character and bright acidity. Notes of vanilla from aging in French and American oak add complexity to the intense black cherry aromas and flavors.

Murphy-Goode Homefront Red Blend- A blend of Syrah, Merlot, Petit Sirah, and Zinfandel. This is a wine that is food friendly and fruit forward. It's chock full of flavors of black cherry and raspberry, vanilla and toast and has a nice long finish that invites another glass. The Homefront Red is not just a good wine, it's for a good cause! *

*For every bottle sold of Homefront Red, Murphy-Goode will donate 50 cents to Operation Homefront.

Murphy-Goode "Not your mother-in-law's Chardonnay"- The 2011 California Chardonnay was crafted with fruit from cool coastal regions of California. It opens with aromas and flavors of red apple, pear and tropical fruits. Streaks of lemon creme with hints of vanilla entice another sip. This is a richly textured Chardonnay that retains balance of integrated fruit and toasty oak.

Murphy-Goode "The Fume" Sauvignon Blanc- The 2012 Fumé was predominately fermented in stainless steel to retain the expression of bright citrus and tropical fruit aromatics while the balance was barrel fermented in French and American oak to develop lush flavors of white peach and honeydew. A touch of Sémillon adds wonderful expressions of floral notes and texture.

{Part 2} California vs. Pacific Northwest
Saturday, April 12th: 1-5pm
2959 Artesian Rd. location

California may be #1 on the average vino drinkers radar, but what few realize is the entire West coast offers wines of world-class quality. Oregon and Washington wines are often compared to the Bordeaux and Burgundy wine regions of France. Oregon sits at the same latitude as France’s Burgundy region producing Pinot Noirs often so similar in style many can’t tell the difference. Washington is producing big juicy cabernet sauvignon’s easily rivaling Napa and Sonoma produced cabernets at a fraction of the price. Moreover, Washington merlot and cabernet is so respected by winemakers across the world, many are jumping ship in their native countries and heading to the Pacific Northwest for a piece of property while they can afford it. Join us for a side by side comparison of two highly respectable regions on the West Coast: California vs. the Pacific Northwest. Let your palate explore the wonders of the United States West coast wine regions and learn the amazing roles each region has on similar growing varietals!

{Part 3} Artisan Producers
Saturday, April 26th, 2014: 1-5pm
1274 E. Chicago Ave. location

As many of our customers know, we at Peterson's are big fans of small producers, often referred to as "boutique wineries," "micro-wineries," or "artisan-producers."  Why go out of your way to seek out a wine that has a much smaller production? There are so many reasons and attending this tasting series is a great way to learn more about the rewards of going small! Many of our customers find joy in selecting smaller producers because of the immense explosion of flavor and detail the wine offers. Often times smaller producers source from a select region giving the wine more opportunity to feature the true qualities of its microclimate. Whatever the reason may be, we hope you find reward in drinking some of our featured artisan wines at this very special Spring Tasting Series.
