Summer 2015: 90 point + Highly Rated Recommendations

Dry Creek Heritage Zinfandel 2013 -- $17.99

“Dry Creek Vineyard has long been among the most value driven of Sonoma County’s premier wine producers. The wines are impeccably made from exceptional vineyards sources and sold at fair prices. The Heritage Vines Zinfandel is a stunner at the price. It shows lovely red fruits with notes of spice and earth, is well balanced and shows excellent length in the mouth, with a persistent finish.” 92 Points Wine Review online.com

Dry Creek Cabernet 2011 -- $21.99

“It's hardly a surprise that Dry Creek Vineyard should make a dynamite Cabernet at this price. It has long been among the best value wineries in California, consistently turning out wines of superior quality at prices that are modest by comparison to others in the same neighborhood. This one shows intense red fruit character, hints of spice and firm backbone. And it's going to be hard to beat the price with this sort of quality.” 94 Points Wine Reviews online. com (Robert Whitley)

Tarima Monastrell 2012 -- $8.99

Bright purple, powerful aromas of blueberry, blackberry, violet and Indian spices. Displays vibrant flavors of smoky dark berries, bitter cherru and candied flowers, with a peppery overtone. The sweet fruit driven finish repeats the smoky note and hangs on tenaciously. 90 Points International Wine Cellar

Wente Morning Fog Chardonnay 2013 -- $13.99

Robust in mouth feel, offers subtlety in flavor and an appetizing tangy texture. It seems to develop more with each sip. Look for light aromas of apple and fig flavors that gain a touch of butter and almond. Medium body. 90 Points Wine Enthusiast

La Cana Albarino 2013-- $14.99

Green tinged yellow. High pitched aromas of lime zest, green apple, ginger and chalky minerals showing very good clarity. Bright and nervy on the palate offering bitter citrus fruit quince flavors and a floral nuance. Weightier on the persistent finish which features pear and melon character and repeating minerality. About 15% of this wine was barrel fermented. 90 Points Wine Spectator

Zorzal Pinot Noir 2013 -- $16.99

The 2013 Terroir Unico Pinot Noir follows the idea of the Terroir Unico range, to show the pure expression of the grape and the place in a line of unoaked wines. This was 20-30% whole cluster fermented and is very pale colored, almost a rose, very perfumed with aromas of red fruit and flowers opening to a light to medium bodied palate, high acidity (blood orange) and a pure, fresh finish. Highly drinkable. 91 Points Wine Advocate
